According to the Computer Desktop Encyclopedia, Blu-Ray technology is "a high-capacity optical disc that holds 4.5 hours of high-definition video (HD) on a single-sided, single-layer 25GB disk. Announced in 2002 by Sony, Hitachi, Philips and other vendors, the Blu-ray technology uses a blue-violet laser that reads pits a third the size of a DVD on tracks that are packed much tighter together. Blu-ray supports the more advanced H.264 and VC-1 video encoding algorithms (codecs) as well as MPEG-2, which is used for DVD. It also supports 1080p, the highest HDTV resolution."
Blu-ray Disc is the next generation in optical storage, offering 25GB to 50GB of storage capacity on a disc.

In the hi-tech crime comedy Ocean's Eleven, con man Danny Ocean (George Clooney) has just been released from a four-year jail term and decides that his first order of business is robbing three Las Vegas casinos owned by the slimy Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia). To pull off this nearly impossible task, he quickly assembles an eclectic crew--including a card shark (Brad Pitt), a pickpocket (Matt Damon), an explosives expert (Don Cheadle), and an aging gambler (Carl Reiner)--and seeks financial backing from a freewheeling casino mogul (Elliott Gould) who holds a grudge against Benedict. However, it soon becomes apparent that Ocean has more at stake than money and his newly found freedom--his ex-wife, Tess (Julia Roberts), just happens to be Benedict's new girlfriend.
In another comedy, Meet the Spartans, writers, producers, and directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer use the film '300' as the basis for their latest spoof. Born to be the perfect Spartan, Leonidas (Sean Magiure) faces numerous trials en route to becoming a man, including a face-off with the penguin from Happy Feet. Once he has proven himself, Leonidas not only becomes king, but also marries super-hot (and slightly slutty) Margot (Carmen Electra). When Leonidas learns that Persia's King Xerxes (Ken Davitian, Borat) plans to make Sparta his own, he has his captain (Kevin Sorbo, the "Hercules" TV show) recruit Sparta's finest and prepare them for battle against invading Persian forces. Unfortunately, that amounts to only 13 half-naked men with painted-on abs who literally prance to their destination.
